Pin Ups Salon officially opened its doors in April 2017 in Windsor Virginia. 23-year-old owner Erin Nystrom opened the salon solely on the belief that she brought a unique and edgy approach to the hair industry, and that the most valuable experience was going to come from trying and learning as she went rather than waiting around for her shot. She’d seen salons thrive and fail and believed wholeheartedly in Pin Ups when it was just an idea she was throwing around.

Inevitably it didn’t take long before Erin was ready to be bigger, better, and more impactful to the community. Having grown up in Suffolk, she believed that the rural community she was part of deserved a salon offering the most high-end and newest trends in the industry.

Katherine Conner has been Erin’s best friend since childhood and had taken no small role in being a supporter, customer, and hype person. It was an easy decision in December of 2018 to make official the partnership that has always been present, and plans began for the new location for Pin Ups Salon in Suffolk. Both Erin and Katherine are passionate about hair, and bringing their fresh perspectives and new techniques to the hair industry, with a specific focus on color and extensions. As the community of Suffolk has grown, Erin and Katherine have grown right along with it and are ready to provide a luxurious, high-end salon experience to the area.
